Our Story
Our family’s winemaking journey began in 2020, when we purchased Sunshine Meadow Ranch in Ballard, California in the heart of the Los Olivos AVA. The soils of the ranch are characterized by well-drained alluvial deposits of sedimentary rock, providing both structure and resilience for the vines. The presence of limestone further defines the terroir, encouraging grapes to develop thicker skins, concentrated tannins, and a refined equilibrium of sugars and acids
What began with a single acre of Syrah has blossomed into something more—by 2025, we expanded our vineyard to include Cabernet Franc and Viognier. To bring this vision to life, we partnered with winemaker Fidencio Flores and his family, whose dedication and expertise infuse each bottle with depth and character. Our inaugural release, a Syrah Rosé, was welcomed with heartfelt enthusiasm—an inspiring start to what we hope will become a lasting tradition of distinctive, expressive wines.
Practicing sustainable, natural viticulture, we hand-pick our grapes and honor old-world techniques to craft wines that are both authentic and elegant. It is with great pride that our family shares them with you.

Meet the Family
Bill & Becky
Bill and Becky have long shared a deep passion for wine, and they are thrilled to transform that passion into a tangible reality. Their journey has taken them across Southern Europe, where they met with winemakers in Italy, Spain, and France, immersing themselves in the traditions, techniques, and nuances of old world wine styles. Through these experiences, they gained firsthand insight into the artistry and dedication required to craft exceptional wines — knowledge they now bring to every step of their own winemaking process.
Our Family
Olivia, Lucas, Ryan, and Rylee have found great joy in exploring the world of wine. From an early age, they have been curious and engaged, learning not just about the art of winemaking but also the science behind it. They actively participate in discussions about our wines, contributing their perspectives to decisions about blends, labels, and production. They are not only learning the craft but are also becoming stewards of our family legacy, representing the next generation of Ballard Village Winery with passion, knowledge, and dedication.
